4 Simple One Way Linking Building Tips

Linking Building Tips

Link building is an important part of getting our business blogs to rank well in the search engines.  We don’t just want any kind of links either.  We want high quality, relevant, and trusted links from a variety of sources.  The problem is that link building can be very time consuming. There are, however, some very cool tools out there (see end of post) that can help too. But, first, here are four simple link building tips to get you started.

Write Great Content

This has to be the most important factor in getting one way links to your site. Yes, it has been said a million times before but it’s always good to remind people. :) If your content is good people will naturally want to link to you. Content comes first, traffic and links second. If you do not have useful content then what’s the purpose of writing?

Mini Sites

Your site needs exposure within your market. Think about it. The more web pages you have out there the more ways there are for people to find you - and link to you (provided you have useful content). You can do this several different ways. You can write, write, write on one major blog or you can set up mini-sites that point to your main site. Use sites that are free like Blogger, Wordpress.com, Squidoo, Tumblr, and HubPages and set up some quality mini-sites.

Leverage Social Sites

Social marketing, if done right, can get a flood of links pointing to your site. Start off with just a couple social sites like StumbleUponFacebook groups, Sphinn, BloggingZoom and be active. If you contribute often enough and have great things to say people will naturally want to link to you.

Team/Friend Linking

Find five business blogs (not including yourself) in your market and create a six part series together with links to each others articles. Post all articles on the same day and you have five backlinks in one day (anyone interested in this contact me).

Wrap Up: Basically, the easy and most simple way to gain links to your site is to write great content. In order to write great content you have to know who your reader is, what they like, what they don’t like, what problems they have, and so on. If you can solve your readers problems you will get a lot of link love!
