But I Don’t Have Time To Blog!
You like the idea of a business blog but you just don’t think you have time to blog. Sound familiar? I’ve heard it before. While some business owners think that they don’t have time to blog, the real issue is that they don’t understand the benefits of a business blog. If you understood the benefits of a business blog then you would be blogging instead of talking about not having time to blog.
Here’s the thing…saying you don’t have time for a business blog is like saying you don’t have time to market your services, establish expertise within your industry, or create trust and credibility with clients and potential clients. That’s not what you’re saying, is it?
Ask yourself if you really see the benefits of blogging for your business. If you do – great! You are well on your way.
If you don’t then consider these benefits:
Communication
Blogging for business is a way to communicate with your target market about things that are important in your industry. Whether you are a bankruptcy lawyer, a realtor, an educator, or an entrepreneur you can use a blog to inform, educate, and share valuable information.
Interaction
With a business blog, your clients and potential clients can interact with you. There is no more one way communication with a blog. This means you, as a business owner, can get instant feedback on your services, promotions, or anything else you need feedback on. From this feedback, you will be in a better position to tailor your services around the desires of your target market. You will be more “in tune” with them. You will know more about how they think, why they buy, why they don’t buy, and possibly even why they picked a competitor over you. A real-time ongoing market researcher!
Humanization
A business blog is a social tool that puts a human face on your business. And guess what? People like to deal with people - not machines. Write about something they care about and they’ll keep coming back for more!
Search Enginization (made that one up)
The search engines love blogs because they are a source of continual fresh content. Every time you publish a blog post you are making it that much easier and faster for the search engines to find you and your business. Which, of course, makes it that much easier for your target market to find you.
The bottom line: like anything in life we make time for things that are valuable to us. Once you know the benefits of something you are more willing to do it. All of a sudden you don’t view it as something that you don’t have time to do. You just do it because you know what it will produce. Sometimes the hardest part is just getting started (if that’s you contact me for a free consultation - I’d like to help).
If you have been avoiding taking the business blogging plunge then do your business a favor and get blogging because you do not have time NOT to blog.

3 Tools For Spying On Your Online Competition
Are you spying on your online competition? There comes a point in every business blogger’s life where we must check out our online competition. You don’t have to but you just never know what you might learn.

Here are three sites that have great tools to help you see what your competition is doing online.
Compete - This site helps you uncover your competition’s unique page counts, rank, reach, average visitors stay, growth and much more. It’s also a great tool for keyword research. Compete Search Analytics helps you find out which keywords are sending traffic to a website or category.
Spyfu - Is similar to Compete in that it is helpful for keyword research.
Quantcast - This site gives demographics in a format that is easy to read.
But, of course, if a blog is new, you are not going to find any information. So, what do you do in that case? How do you check out your competition? Share your comments below!

Realtors :: Do You Have A Business Blog?
If not, you should. A business blog is the perfect marketing tool for Realtors to grow their client base. Realtors can use a business blog to network with buyers and sellers, to showcase houses (even through video), to keep potential clients informed of the real estate issues in the local area, develop critical contacts both locally and globally, gain referral business, and establish authority.
I live in the Metro Detroit area so I have an idea of how bad the housing market is here. But even with the economy the way it is there are still Realtors who are succeeding. Guess why? Yep, because they are blogging! They understand and use blogging as part of their marketing strategy. Read more—>>>
